What Does the Diesel Emission Issue Mean for Me?
When questions arise and issues come up, it’s important to make sure that the vehicle you are driving is safe and reliable. At Joe Heidt Motors in Ramsey NJ, we are working hard to help our customers get the answers they need to drive their Volkswagen vehicle with confidence. We’ll tell you what you need to know about the TDI clean diesel emissions issues and how it affects your vehicle.
Which Vehicles Are Impacted?
Not all Volkswagen vehicles have a diesel engine, so these are the only ones affected.
VW Jetta TDI (2009-2015)
VW Jetta SportWagen TDI (2009-2014)
VW Golf TDI (2010-2015)
VW Golf SportWagen TDI (2015)
VW Beetle TDI & VW Beetle Convertible TDI (2012-2015)
VW Passat TDI (2012-2015)
What Does this Mean for My TDI?
If you are the driver of a TDI Clean Diesel engine from Volkswagen, there is no need to worry about the safety of your vehicle. The issue at hand is one of emissions and has no impact on the reliability or safety of your Volkswagen. These vehicles are created using high quality materials and are incredibly detailed and well-designed. A history of innovation and ingenuity had led to the impressive vehicles available today, even if the kinks are still being worked out.
Will I Get a New Volkswagen for Free?
At this point, no decisions have been made about how to handle the emissions issues. The team at Volkswagen and the US government are working out a solution, but it is not likely that all of the TDI Clean Diesel vehicles will be replaced. Should any issue arise regarding the state emissions tests in the US, you are encouraged to contact the VW Customer CARE number at 800-822-8987. You may also email any questions or concerns to firstname.lastname@example.org.
